WBC Missions

We believe that the church does not exist for us, but that we are the church and we exist for the world.

· We will go wherever God leads to the end of this earth to reach people with the gospel of Christ.

· We will support missionaries through giving and going.

· We will remember that our mission field starts at the end of our driveway.

We have a rich history of not only giving, but also going on mission trips to support missionaries and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. In addition to supporting Southern Baptist missions organizations, we also help support local ministries, missionaries in North America, and around the world. I hope you will take time to get to know the different ministries and missionaries we support. But don’t just read! Join us in a live on mission.

Dr. T. Floyd Davis, Jr. World Mission Offering

Floyd Davis was the Pastor of Woodridge Baptist Church for 35? years. He lead the church through many changes as he lead the church to, “Seek Ye first the Kingdom of God.” Woodridge Baptist Church was originally known as Caddo Heights Baptist Church. The church met on 4055 St. Vincent Avenue. The church was fortunate to have many pastors who loved and supported missions. Floyd continued that strong tradition. He lead the church to relocate so they could better reach people and continue to be a vibrant, missions supporting church. In July, 1997, the church completed the process of relocating to its present campus at 850 East Bert Kouns. The church has seen God’s blessings through good times and hardships. Many Baptist churches do three missions offerings throughout the year. (State, North America, and International) Brother Floyd, as most of us knew him, presented the idea of a single offering for all three in the month of December. He was famous for saying, “Pray and ask the Lord what He wants you to give, and give it.” The people of Woodridge responded with incredible generosity. Our current pastor, Chuck McInturf, continues to lead this church in missions. He has a deep love of the mission field and always wants to see more people get involved in not only giving, but also going. In memory of Bro. Floyd, Chuck lead the church to name the world mission offering in his honor. The offering is split between state missions, NAMB, and the IMB. You can find out more about these below.
